Welcome to The Light Within Retreats

We are a non-profit organization hosting 5-day healing and wellness retreats for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. As suicide loss survivors ourselves, we understand the loneliness and complexity that suicide leaves on loved ones left behind. That is why we have specially curated these events at our oceanside location in Sayulita, Mexico, where survivors can come together to connect, bond, and create a path forward where their light can be restored once again.

This 5-day transformative retreat is specific for women of all walks of life who have lost a spouse or partner to suicide. We welcome anyone who has lost their person to the battle with mental health — no matter where you are in your healing journey. We believe in honoring and remembering our partners is actually a helpful way to  our own healing.

Our retreats leverage the healing power of the ocean, surfing, yoga, mediation, group therapy, and individual counseling, to begin to restore your natural, infinite inner light. Join us in the vibrant town of Sayulita, Mexico to begin a transformative journey into healing after loss.

Your 5-day excursion includes:

• Ground transportation to/from Puerto Vallarta’s international airport.

• 4 nights lodging in a luxury home just a few kilometers from Sayulita and Punta de Mita, Nayarit.

• Individual + Group Counseling Sessions with therapists trained in suicide loss

• All food and non-alcoholic beverages on campus. All of our chef-prepared meals are locally sourced and served in the authentic family style of Mexican cooking.

• A remembrance ceremony for our loved ones on the beach

• Daily Yoga + Guided Meditation

• Nervous system regulation and trauma release exercises

• Daily Surf Lessons. We welcome all levels of surfing — new and experienced

• A spiritual hike through the jungles of Sayulita with a local, indigenous shaman

• A final night beach bonfire with a “letting go” fire ceremony

• A 60-minute massage to feel refreshed and rejuvenated

• Pre- and Post-Event Group Therapy Sessions (online) for a total of 3 months of care
